Eric Fryer happy to be back with the Pirates

After being designated for assignment by the St. Louis Cardinals, catcher Eric Fryer found himself back at Busch Stadium and he hurt his old club with three RBI in a game. Fryer was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates are without their No. 1 catcher, Francisco Cervelli, who has a broken left hamate bone in his left hand. Backup Chris Stewart was placed on the disabled list with a sore left knee. In six games since joining the Pirates Fryer is batting .400. Piratesdugout.com's George Von Benko caught up with Fryer just before the All Star break.
