Wilson Off To Solid Start

Pirates' shortstop Jack Wilson drove in the game-tying run in the ninth and the go-ahead run in the 15th on two sacrifice flies, and Pittsburgh ended its three-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Cubs on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. Wilson is hitting .275 with one home run and seven RBI. PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko caught up with Wilson recently.

GVB-- The team has been struggling offensively, but you have still been able to win some close ball games.

JW-- Definitely, pitching and defense, that's been our strong suit. That's always good if those are your two strong suits, because that's what you need, and when you have good pitching and defense, you can score two or three runs and still win the game. That's what's been happening, and I think it's a positive note for us knowing that when our bats do start getting hot a little bit, we'll add another facet to our game.
