GVB-- What has been the key to your offensive success this season?

SP-- I've got to thank my teammates - I've been in such a great lineup where everybody hits, and hitting is contagious and you just want to go out there and help your team win.

GVB-- You told me in spring training that you were seeking more consistent at bats. Have you found that consistency you were seeking?

SP-- I'm very pleased with what has happened so far. I worked on a lot of stuff this off season and I feel that right now it's all coming out - the stuff that I work on this off season and it's starting to payoff. It is something that I did work very hard on.

GVB-- You have to be pleased with the power numbers and RBI numbers?

SP-- The power is still there and that's one thing that I've always been able to do is hit the ball with power, but now I'm starting to hit with a little bit better batting average and starting to drive the ball to all fields and everything is just working out and going my way right now.

GVB-- When you made the jump from Single A to Double A was there a noticeable difference?

SP-- It was all about getting your feet wet - it was a whole new experience and when I first got to Double A I tried to do too much too fast and I got away from my game, but guys like Neil Walker and Andrew McCutchen they told me to settle down and stick to your game, and that's what I did and I got settled in and I started playing the game.

GVB-- You got a chance to go to the All-Star Futures game and you played in the Eastern League All-Star game - good experiences for you?

SP-- Yeah, it was a great experience - I played with a lot of talent out there. It was an honor to be out there and it was an honor to get picked to go out there. Both were great experiences and I had a great time.

GVB-- How have you progressed defensively this season?

SP-- I feel I've played well. Recently I made some really stupid errors, but for the most part I've been happy with what I've done defensively.

GVB-- You made two moves this season all the way up to Triple A. What is your timetable - as far as making it to the big leagues?

SP-- I'm very pleased and it's a very exciting feeling. It's a goal of mine and I said it at the beginning of this year - I want to keep moving up and I want to move up as quickly as possible. The big leagues are the goal - the goal is not Triple A - the goal is the big leagues and that's where I'd like to get to as quick as possible.
