Winterball Roundup - 10/18-19

Left-hander Corey Young had another strong outing in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday afternoon. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at the early-week winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise 4 – (@) Scottsdale 5

Leadoff hitter and centerfielder Engel Beltre was the only Rangers prospect to appear in the Rafters' 6-4 victory over Scottsdale on Monday afternoon. The talented 20-year-old went 1-for-3 with a walk and a successful sacrifice bunt.

Beltre moved down to the three-hole in Tuesday's contest and was 1-for-4 with yet another walk––his fourth in his last five games. He had only 21 free passes in 115 games during the regular season.

Infielder Davis Stoneburner continued his strong start on Tuesday by reaching base three times in four trips. He had a double, a walk, and a hit-by pitch in addition to a stolen base and two runs batted in. The Virginia native also committed his first error of the Fall League season.

Catcher Jose Felix singled once in four at-bats, dropping his early-season average to .375.

Left-hander Corey Young was the only Rangers prospect to appear in Tuesday's AFL action. The Seton Hall product hurled a perfect sixth inning on 11 pitches, throwing six strikes and inducing three groundouts.

Venezuelan Winter League

The circuit was quiet on Monday. It returned to action on Tuesday evening, but with La Guaira having the night off, no Rangers players participated.

Mexican Pacific League

The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.

Dominican Winter League

The Dominican Winter League will begin its season on October 22.

Puerto Rican Winter League

The season in Puerto Rico will also commence on October 22.
