Centerfielder Engel Beltre moved into the leadoff spot and provided solid production for Licey in the Dominican Winter League on Friday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise – SEASON OVER

The Surprise Rafters concluded the Arizona Fall League season on Thursday afternoon.



Venezuelan Winter League


La Guaira designated hitter Max Ramirez raised his average to .284 by picking up one single in three at-bats.

Andres Blanco went 0-for-3 with a run batted in for Magallanes on Friday. He also committed his first error of the winterball campaign.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

Shortstop Renny Osuna batted leadoff for the La Guaira club and went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in. Centerfielder David Paisano, who hit third, was 1-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases.



Dominican Winter League

Centerfielder Engel Beltre moved into the leadoff spot for Licey on Friday evening and picked up a pair of singles in five at-bats. The 2-for-5 performance actually lowered his average to .417. Beltre stole his first base and picked up an outfield assist by gunning down a runner at second base.

Shortstop Andres James got his first start for Licey, batting ninth and going 0-for-3 before he was lifted for a pinch hitter.

The Licey/Cibao contest featured 18 different pitchers––and it lasted only nine innings.

Toros del Este designated hitter Esteban German had a single and a walk in four plate appearances on Friday evening. He also stole his fifth base in five attempts.

Estellas first baseman Chris Davis was hitless in four at-bats, striking out twice. Davis was playing his second game in the Dominican Winter League.



Puerto Rican Winter League

No Rangers appeared on Friday.



Mexican Pacific League


The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.
