Winterball Roundup - 11/26

First baseman Chris Davis and left fielder Julio Borbon continued their hot starts in the Dominican Winter League on Friday evening. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise – SEASON OVER
17-12-3, 2.5 GB


The Surprise Rafters wrapped up the campaign with a second-place finish in the Fall League's West Division. Ten different Rangers prospects appeared in at least one game. Right-hander Eric Hurley stood out among the group, as he finished with a streak of 20 consecutive scoreless innings over four starts.



Venezuelan Winter League


Three of the four scheduled games on Friday evening were postponed. No Rangers appeared during the day's lone contest.



Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

Once again, David Paisano and Renny Osuna were the one-two punch in the La Guaira Liga Paralela batting order. Paisano had one single in four at-bats while Osuna was hitless in his four trips.

Caracas shortstop Edwin Garcia only had two plate appearances in the six-inning contest. He grounded out and flied out, dropping his average to .207 through 10 games.



Dominican Winter League

Estrellas cleanup hitter Chris Davis flashed his power in a 6-2 victory by going 3-for-5 with a solo home run, his fourth round-tripper in just nine winterball games.

Not to be outdone, Aguilas Cibaenas leadoff man Julio Borbon was 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and a stolen base. The 24-year-old is 8-for-19 with a double and a home run in his first five contests this season.

Esteban German saw his average drop to .327 after he had one single in four trips. Miguel de los Santos started for German's Toros del Este. The left-hander allowed two runs on three hits and four walks in three innings. He struck out three.



Puerto Rican Winter League

No Rangers appeared on Friday.



Mexican Pacific League


The circuit has begun its 2010 campaign, but there will be no Rangers players participating this season.
