Lara's Guilder Rodriguez saw action as a pinch runner in the second game of the club's doubleheader on Sunday. The 27-year-old stole his second base of the season.
Rodriguez has appeared in 17 games this winter but has just six at-bats. He is seeing nearly all of his time as a pinch runner or late-inning defensive replacement.
Max Ramirez (.298/.399/.404) went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks, giving him seven free passes in his last five games.
Navegantes del Magallanes shortstop Andres Blanco (.292/.352/.385) had one single and one RBI in five at-bats.
Liga Paralela was off on Sunday, but the league finally posted its La Guaira box score from Saturday. Centerfielder David Paisano (.278/.325/.361), who batted sixth, was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Toros second baseman Esteban German (.329/.360/.405) extended his hitting streak to 10 games by going 2-for-4 with an RBI, a sacrifice bunt, and a pair of stolen bases. German has 14 swipes in 16 attempts thus far.
Estrellas first baseman Chris Davis (.254/.315/.493) broke out of a slump with a single, a double, and a walk in five plate appearances. He also drove in two runs. Davis' two-bagger came against Round Rock native and Baylor product Abe Woody.
Catcher Taylor Teagarden entered as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning but didn't get an at-bat.
Licey leadoff hitter Engel Beltre (.333/.364/.458) had an all-or-nothing day, going 2-for-5 with a triple and three strikeouts. With a double, a triple, and a homer over his last three contests, the toolsy 21-year-old is beginning to show a little pop in the Dominican.
Suddenly scuffling outfielder Julio Borbon (.283/.367/.358) was 0-for-3 with a walk on Sunday afternoon. After a hot start, the 24-year-old is 3-for-22 over his last six contests.
No Rangers appeared on Sunday.
Jose Felix entered as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and grounded into a double play. The catcher is 1-for-8 with Guasave, though the one knock was a solo home run.
