Winterball Roundup - 12/7

Outfielder Julio Borbon had a big day at the top of the Aguilas Cibaenas lineup on Tuesday, getting three singles and two stolen bases. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Venezuelan Winter League

La Guaira's Max Ramirez (.291/.394/.393) was 0-for-3. He reached base once on a hit-by pitch. The 26-year-old is without an extra-base hit in his last 11 contests, spanning 44 plate appearances.

Lefty specialist Joe Ortiz hurled two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run. He worked around one single and lowered his ERA to 1.35.

Magallanes shortstop and leadoff hitter Andres Blanco was 2-for-4 with a walk. The defensive-minded infielder also committed his sixth error of the winterball campaign.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

La Guaira centerfielder David Paisano (.275/.326/.363) batted second and went 1-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in. Third baseman Renny Osuna went without a hit in five trips, lowering his Liga Paralela average to .266.

Dominican Winter League

Aguilas Cibaenas left fielder and leadoff man Julio Borbon (.316/.391/.386) helped set the table by going 3-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases, giving him five swipes in eight attempts.

Estrellas DH Chris Davis (.239/.299/.465) was hitless in four trips. Catcher Taylor Teagarden saw his average drop to .148 after he went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts.

Esteban German (.325/.356/.398) singled once in four trips. Licey centerfielder Engel Beltre saw action as a late-inning defensive replacement but didn't get a plate appearance.

Puerto Rican Winter League

Tuesday's Ponce/Caguas contest was postponed.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday.
