2011 Rangers Instructional League Roster

The Texas Rangers have announced their roster and game schedule for the 2011 Fall Instructional League, which begins on September 19. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at the 62 young prospects that will descend upon Surprise.

The Texas Rangers are sending 62 of their brightest young prospects to Surprise, Ariz., where they will participate in the Fall Instructional League. The circuit features an 18-game schedule, with games kicking off on September 21 and ending on October 14. Players will begin workouts at the club's minor league facility in Surprise on September 19.

In addition to the regular instructional league, a number of clubs based in Phoenix's west valley will once again form the Advanced Instructional League. The AIL will play an 18-game schedule, with games beginning on September 21 and concluding with a championship game––played at the stadium of the club with the best record––on October 15.

The Rangers are sending 16 prospects to the advanced league. They are denoted on the roster by an asterisk. Because the club is sending so many players to instructs this year, there will also be a few extra games scheduled with scout teams in junior colleges for the younger prospects.

A complete listing of the Rangers' 2011 Instructional League roster and schedules are shown below.
