The Surprise Saguaros improved to 2-0 on the young season behind a strong offensive performance, led by centerfielder Ryan Strausborger's three-hit day. The speedster batted eighth and went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in his first Fall League contest.

Shortstop Leury Garcia, another Rangers prospect with plus speed (Garcia's is plus-plus speed) had a single, a walk, and a strikeout in five plate appearances. He was also hit by a pitch, knocked home a run, and stole a base.

Cleanup-hitting DH Mike Olt was 0-for-3 with a strikeout, a walk, and a run batted in. He was caught stealing once.

Left-hander Miguel de los Santos had a rough day at the office, throwing only 15 of his 39 pitches for strikes in one inning. The Dominican hurler issued two runs on a hit and four walks. He struck out one.

Former Rangers farmhand Evan Reed, who was sent to Florida in the Jorge Cantu deal last season, is also playing for the Rafters this season. Reed punched out two in a perfect eighth inning. He is coming off Tommy John surgery this year.

Baseball World Cup

The U.S. defeated Greece, 3-0, and improved to 3-1 in group play. They're currently in fourth place––one game behind Holland, Canada, and Panama––and must finish top three in order to advance to the knockout stage. The Americans have three games remaining, and they're against the three currently unbeaten teams.

Five-hole hitter and first baseman Chad Tracy went 1-for-4 with a double in the game. Third baseman Tom Mendonca was 0-for-4 with a punchout.
