The Arizona Fall League season concluded with Saturday's championship game. There will be a piece reviewing the performances of Rangers prospects in the circuit on the site later this week.

Venezuelan Winter League

Tiburones de La Guaira reliever Joe Ortiz (4.50 ERA/.237 BAA) retired the only batter he faced in Tuesday's victory against Aragua. Fellow southpaws are hitting only .143 against him in 19 appearances.

Magallanes and Lara played 11 innings and to a 10-9 final score. Navegantes right fielder Joey Butler, who batted seventh, was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run batted in. He was also hit by a pitch.

Shortstop Guilder Rodriguez entered as a defensive replacement for Lara and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Dominican Winter League

Engel Beltre got the start for Licey, batting ninth and playing in center field. The toolsy prospect had one single and one strikeout in four at-bats. Beltre is now 11-for-38 (.289) with two doubles and a home run in 18 appearances this season.

DH Julio Borbon batted leadoff for Escogido and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, dropping his average to .146 in 19 games. The 25-year-old Borbon is hitless in his last seven games, a streak that spans 13 official at-bats.

Borbon wasn't the only Escogido player to have a rough night at the office. While the Leones' bats were held scoreless on only two hits, right-hander Carlos Pimentel (1.80 ERA/.091 BAA) suffered the loss. He came on in the fifth and worked one-third of an inning, yielding two runs on a hit and a walk.

Despite the loss, Pimentel has surrendered only four hits in 15 innings this winterball season.

On the other side, Fabio Castillo worked a perfect sixth inning for the Toros, earning his second hold. The big reliever has allowed only one hit in 4.2 scoreless innings over his first five appearances.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday.

Sidearming righty Cody Eppley has returned home for the remainder of the offseason. The 26-year-old had a successful 20-appearance stint with the Yaquis de Obregon, posting seven saves and a 3.10 ERA. In 20.1 innings, he allowed 18 hits, walked seven, and struck out 26. His heavy 88-90 mph sinker induced just over 3.4 groundouts per flyout.

Puerto Rican Winter League

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

Arlett Mavare was uncharacteristically wild in his start for La Guaira on Tuesday, but he didn't allow a hit in four innings. The young righty gave up one run while walking four batters. He struck out two.

Through four appearances, Mavare has the following line–-13 ip, 7 h, 3 er (2.08 ERA), 7 bb, 13 k.
