Texas Rangers catcher Yorvit Torrealba appeared in his first winterball game of the season in Venezuela on Monday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Rangers' system.

Venezuelan Winter League

Texas Rangers' major league backstop Yorvit Torrealba appeared in his first winterball game of the year for the Leones del Caracas. Batting cleanup and playing as his club's designated hitter, Torrealba went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.

Right fielder Joey Butler, hitting second for Magallanes, also was 0-for-4 with a base on balls.

Dominican Winter League

Licey centerfielder Engel Beltre struck out in both of his plate appearances before being lifted for pinch-hitter Carlos Triunfel in the eighth inning.

Mexican Pacific League

There were no games on Monday.

Puerto Rican Winter League

There were no games on Monday.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

La Guaira righty Arlett Mavare was dominant in his start against the Bravos, hurling 6.1 innings of one-hit, shutout ball. He walked one and struck out five.

The hurler, who has advanced secondary stuff that includes a mature curveball, now has the following line in his debut Liga Paralela campaign––19.1 ip, 8 h, 3 er (1.40 ERA), 8 bb, 18 k.
