Rangers Winterball Roundup – 1/6

Aragua shortstop Luis Hernandez reached base two more times in three plate appearances on Friday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.

Venezuelan Winter League

Nine-hole hitting Aragua shortstop Luis Hernandez kept his postseason batting average above .500 by going 1-for-2 with a walk in his three plate appearances. He also drove home a run. Second baseman Yangervis Solarte was 0-for-3 but brought in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Dominican Winter League

Julio Borbon's postseason average fell to .200 after he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts at the top of Escogido's lineup. Borbon, who played in left field, also laid down a sacrifice bunt.

Engel Beltre appeared as a late-inning defensive replacement in left field during Licey's 1-0 victory at Aguilas Cibaenas.

Mexican Pacific League

The Algodoneros de Guasave extended the series to a sixth game with an incredible five-run outburst in the bottom of the eighth inning, leading to an 8-5 victory. Catcher Jose Felix came on as a pinch runner in the eighth and scored a run. He finished the game behind the plate but didn't get a plate appearance.

Puerto Rican Winter League

There were no games on Friday.
