Lone Star Dugout Video: Kyle Hendricks

WILMINGTON, Del. – Through 10 starts this season, High-A Myrtle Beach righty Kyle Hendricks has a 2.94 earned-run average. His best start to date came on May 20, when he struck out 11 batters and tossed eight innings of one-run ball. Lone Star Dugout has video from that outing.

After pitching out of the bullpen at short-season Spokane last year––and making one Double-A spot-start––right-hander Kyle Hendricks has made the jump forward to High-A Myrtle Beach in 2012.

The Rangers' eighth-round pick in last year's MLB Draft, Hendricks tossed a gem at Wilmington on May 20, as he worked eight innings of one-run ball. The 22-year-old allowed four hits while striking out a career-best 11 batters without issuing a walk.

Hendricks has a 2.94 earned-run average through 10 starts this season. In 64.1 innings, he has allowed 68 hits, walked just five, and struck out 53.

The Dartmouth product has currently faced 150 consecutive batters without issuing a walk. It's a streak that dates back to May 1 and spans parts of six starts.

There will also be a feature interview and scouting report of Hendricks––which will talk more in-depth about his four-pitch repertoire––posted in the coming days.
