Lone Star Dugout Video: Roy Oswalt
Veteran right-handed pitcher Roy Oswalt made his debut as a member of the Texas Rangers' organization on Saturday, working two scoreless innings.
The 34-year-old Oswalt, who hadn't pitched in live game action since last year's NL Division Series, worked around three singles while walking one and striking out one. He threw 21 of his 34 pitches for a strike. After the outing, Oswalt threw a bullpen session in order to reach his pitch count.
The Mississippi native flashed a low-90s fastball in the game, topping out at 94 mph on his strikeout of Isotopes designated hitter Jeff Baisley. True to his scouting report, he also mixed in his low-80s changeup, mid-80s slider, and upper-60s curveball.
According to FanGraphs.com, Oswalt threw his fastball with 60.7 percent of his offerings last year with Philadelphia. He also used 19 percent changeups, 10.5 percent sliders, and 9.8 percent big-breaking curves.

After his outing, Oswalt fielded questions from the media for approximately 10 minutes. He talked about his two innings, his stuff, and his timetable for reaching Arlington, among other subjects.
