The Arizona Fall League announced on Wednesday that first baseman Chris McGuiness will represent the Texas Rangers' organization in this Saturday's Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game. The contest will be televised on MLB Network at 7:00 p.m. Central.

On Tuesday, McGuiness batted cleanup for the Saguaros and went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Righty reliever Ryan Rodebaugh worked around a double in an otherwise clean seventh inning. He fanned one. Ben Rowen faced two batters in the eighth, walking one before recording an inning-ending groundout.

Dominican Winter League

The Gigantes del Cibao and Leones del Escogido played 11 innings on Tuesday, and that was unfortunate for both the Gigantes' Leury Garcia and the Leones' Carlos Pimentel.

The leadoff-hitting Garcia went hitless in seven at-bats for Cibao, striking out three times and dropping his winterball batting average to .326. Pimentel pitched in Cibao's five-run 11th inning and yielded three runs while recording two outs. He gave up four hits, uncorked two wild pitches, and allowed an inherited runner to score.

Through his first four appearances, the 23-year-old Pimentel hasn't matched his success of last season. The right-hander has permitted five runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings. Last year, he allowed only three earned runs on four hits in 18.2 frames.

Venezuelan Winter League

La Guaira lefty reliever Joe Ortiz (3.38 ERA/.194 BAA in nine appearances) induced four consecutive groundouts in his perfect 1.1-inning outing. The 5-foot-7 hurler has tossed scoreless ball in each of his last five games, spanning five innings.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

Once again, Liga Paralela box scores were not available, as the website has been down for the last week.

Mexican Pacific League

Mazatlan right fielder Joey Butler (.229/.308/.371 in 10 games) went 0-for-3 with a walk, striking out twice. He was also caught stealing for the second time in three attempts. Through his first 10 games, Butler has three walks and 14 strikeouts.
