Arizona Fall League: Surprise – OFF

The Arizona Fall League was quiet on Sunday.

Dominican Winter League

One day after being hit on the head with a pitch, Tigres del Licey slugger Mike Olt sat out of the lineup. But centerfielder Leonys Martin and left fielder Engel Beltre both got the start.

Martin, batting leadoff, went 0-for-4 with a base on balls while the nine-hole hitting Beltre was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and his first stolen base.

Venezuelan Winter League

Cardenales de Lara base running and defensive specialist Guilder Rodriguez appeared as a pinch runner in the ninth inning. He played a part in his club's come-from-behind walkoff victory by stealing third base before scoring the tying run on a single. The steal was his second of the winterball season.

Liga Paralela (Venezuela Minor League)

There were no Liga Paralela games on Sunday.

Mexican Pacific League

Catcher Jose Felix saw action as a late-inning defensive replacement for Guasave but didn't have a plate appearance.

Slumping outfielder Joey Butler saw his batting average fall to .196 after he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk. After starting strong, the 26-year-old Butler is now just 5-for-33 (.152) in his last 10 contests.

Puerto Rican Winter League
