Henderson into double digits

Over the past few months, Amari Henderson’s recruitment has gained momentum. The 2015 Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek cornerback gave Scout.com the latest.

“I have offers from Kentucky, Penn State, Kansas State, Wake Forest, UMass, Miami of Ohio, UNC-Charlotte, Wofford, Mercer and South Alabama,” said Amari Henderson. “Michigan is also recruiting me.

“Wake Forest and Kentucky are recruiting me the hardest. It definitely means a lot to me that they are showing so much interest.”

His most recent offer was from an SEC school.

“Kentucky offered me during the spring evaluation period,” said the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Henderson. “The SEC is a big-time conference, so it means a lot for a school from that conference to come down to North Carolina and offer me. It’s a nice program and they have great coaches. I’m definitely interested in them.”

What’s next for Henderson?

“I plan on visiting Michigan, Kentucky and Wake Forest,” he said. “I’m going to Wake Forest on July 18, Kentucky on July 22 and Michigan on July 28.

”I’m looking forward to seeing the atmospheres and academics at the schools. I also want to see the chemistry I have with the coaches.”

He has a timeline for his college decision.

“I’m going to narrow it down between three and five schools during the season,” Henderson said. “Then after the season, I plan on committing.”

Henderson claims no favorites at this time.
