Making a spot-start in place of injured pitcher Josh Rupe, Armando Galarraga surrendered six runs on nine hits in six innings on Monday.

The native Venezuelan showed his nerves early on, as he allowed all six runs in the game's first two innings. Galarraga also uncorked two wild pitches and was charged with a balk.

The right-hander settled down in his final four innings. He yielded just two hits and a walk over four scoreless frames.

Leadoff hitter Freddy Guzman (.245/.347/.357) was 2-for-4. Guzman has had a strange year on the bases, as he has been successful in just eight of his 15 stolen base attempts.

Tim Hulett, Marlon Byrd, and Jason Botts each doubled for their only hit while catcher Guillermo Quiroz was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
