Left fielder Victor Diaz (.348/.387/.585) put together one of the best games of the season for any Ranger minor leaguer, as he was a perfect 5-for-5 with two home runs and six runs batted in. One of Diaz's home runs was a grand slam.
Not to be out done by Diaz's first inning slam, Nelson Cruz added a grand slam of his own in the bottom of the fourth. It was his only hit of the day.
Starting pitcher Eric Hurley (3.21 ERA/.228 BAA) surrendered two runs on two hits in five innings, walking two and striking out six. He threw 87 pitches in the outing.
Third baseman Adam Fox, who was 1-for-5 with a walk, also hit a home run.
Second baseman Tim Hulett (3/6), DH Jason Botts (2/3, 2B, 2 BB), 1B Nate Gold (2/3, BB) and C Chris Stewart (2/5) also chipped in with multiple hits.

Third baseman Micah Furtado boosted his Double-A average to .481 with three singles in four at-bats.
Anthony Webster and Steve Murphy each doubled for their only hit of the game.
Closer Jesse Ingram struck out two in a perfect ninth inning. He has recorded 57 punchouts in 46 1/3 innings with the RoughRiders this season.

Starter Mike Ballard pitched well early and late, but struggled in the middle innings. Overall, he allowed six runs on 10 hits in six innings. The lefty walked one and struck out five. He also allowed a home run, his eighth in seven California League starts.
First baseman Freddie Thon was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his seventh of the year.
DH Taylor Teagarden and centerfielder Craig Gentry each went 2-for-5 with a double.
Right fielder Truan Mehl (2/5) and second baseman David Peterson (2/2) singled twice.
Left fielder Ben Harrison, who was 0-for-3 with three strikeouts, saw his average drop to .247 with the Blaze.
Josh Giles (1.1 IP) and Jared Hyatt (1 IP) each tossed scoreless relief.

Ian Gac added a three-run homer for his only hit of the game.
Purdue product Dan Sattler fanned three in two hitless innings of relief.
