The CaneFires dropped their season opener with all five Ranger representatives seeing action in the game.

Centerfielder Craig Gentry ledoff and played in center field. He was 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts.

Also playing in the outfield was right fielder K.C. Herren. The 22-year-old singled once in four trips to the plate. He also committed a fielding error.

Designated hitter Chad Tracy (0/3, BB) and first baseman Ian Gac (1/5, 2B) each reached base safely one time.

Tall reliever Jose Marte surrendered one run on two hits in two innings. He walked one and struck out three.
