Winterball Roundup - 10/4

Lone Star Dugout takes a look at Wednesday and Thursday's Hawaii Winter Baseball action.

Hawaii Winter Baseball: West Oahu 4 – Waikiki 10
1-4, 3.0 GB

West Oahu dropped lost for the fourth time in their first five games on Thursday night in Hawaii. Doing most of the damage for Waikiki was former University of Texas third baseman David Maroul, who hit two home runs.

For the CaneFires, right fielder K.C. Herren was hitless in four at bats and DH Ian Gac went 0-for-3 with a walk.

On Wednesday night, Rangers farmhand Jose Marte took the loss, as he surrendered five runs – four earned – on three hits in 1 1/3 innings. The erratic reliever walked three batters and uncorked two wild pitches.

Right fielder K.C. Herren struck out three times in that game, but he also had an RBI stand-up triple.

Chad Tracy went 0-for-2 before leaving the game with a hamstring injury. He did not play on Thursday.
