Minor League Roundup - 5/5

With only one team in the system earning a victory, Monday was not the most exciting day down on the Rangers' farm. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

AAA: Oklahoma 1 – (@) Tacoma 2
L – Fukumori (0-1)
HR – Gold (7)
20-12, 3.0 GU

Robinson Tejeda (3.07 ERA/.212 BAA) made his first start of the year on Monday after notching six relief appearances in April. The right-hander surrendered just two hits – both singles – in six shutout innings. He struck out four without issuing a walk.

Left fielder John Mayberry raised his average back up to .500 with two hits, including a double, in three at-bats. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Mayberry's Triple-A numbers is the one strikeout in his first 28 at-bats.

Nate Gold hit a solo homer, his seventh long ball of the season.

Reliever Kameron Loe continued to get back on track with two perfect innings. He has not allowed a run in his last three appearances, spanning 4.2 frames.

W – Dittler (1-1)
SV – Madrigal (10)
22-8, 5.5 GU

Frisco starting pitcher John Bannister threw 109 pitches and walked seven batters in 4.2 innings. But the right-hander was still able to produce a successful bottom line, as he allowed only one unearned run. He gave up two hits and struck out four.

After two consecutive hitless days, left fielder Steve Murphy got back on track by going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI.

Corey Ragsdale (2/4, 2 2B) and Craig Gentry (1/4, 2B, BB) also doubled in the game.

Elvis Andrus (1/4, BB), Ben Harrison (1/2, 2 BB) and Dustin Majewski (2/4) were the other ‘Riders to reach base multiple times.

Closer Warner Madrigal (1.72 ERA/.200 BAA) fanned one and allowed one hit in a scoreless inning. He notched his 10th save of the season.

A+: Bakersfield – OFF
17-14, 6.0 GB

Bakersfield's road trip will continue on Tuesday, as they travel to face Modesto (15-16) for a three-game set.

A: Clinton 1 – (@) South Bend 7
L – Beavan (1-1)
20-7, 2.0 GU

Blake Beavan was hurt by the home run ball during his second professional start on Monday. The Irving native allowed a pair of two-run homers, giving him four runs allowed in six innings. He gave up six total hits, did not issue a walk, and did not strike a batter out.

The LumberKings offense was limited to three hits by the South Bend pitching staff. Second baseman Matt Lawson and right fielder Mitch Moreland had two of those knocks. Each player went 1-for-4 with a double.

Reliever Julio Santana fanned one in a scoreless inning.
