Julio Borbon had his best game yet, going 3-for-5 with a triple and a run batted in.

Third baseman John Whittleman was 0-for-3 with a walk.

John Bannister suffered the loss, as he surrendered two runs on four hits and three walks in 1 1/3 innings. He threw 34 pitches – just 15 for strikes – in the outing.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Friday.

Venezuelan Winter League

Right-hander Kendy Batista earned the victory for La Guaira after allowing one run in 2 1/3 frames.

Left fielder Ben Harrison doubled twice in four at-bats.

Right fielder Miguel Alfonzo went 0-for-3 with a base on balls.

Magallanes shortstop Elvis Andrus was hitless in three at-bats.

Jose Vallejo appeared as a pinch runner and struck out in his only at-bat.
