Third baseman John Whittleman had one of Surprise's five hits on Tuesday. He singled once in four at-bats.

Julio Borbon went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Right-hander John Bannister was the only Rafters pitcher to keep Mesa off the board. He fanned two in a shutout inning, surrendering one hit and one walk.

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday.

Venezuelan Winter League

Omar Poveda came in out of the bullpen for Aragua. He allowed two runs on a hit and two walks. Poveda struck out one.

Magallanes leadoff hitter Elvis Andrus was 0-for-4 with a walk.
