Max Ramirez hit a crucial home run in his first Venezuelan Winter League game of the season on Wednesday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

First baseman Justin Smoak was one of the lone bright spots in yet another disappointing game for the Rafters. The 21-year-old batted in the cleanup spot and went 2-for-4 with a double.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday.

Venezuelan Winter League

It was a big night for the Rangers' prospects with La Guaira.

Playing in his first game of the winter, Max Ramirez played first base and batted cleanup. He was 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run homer.

Outfielder Ben Harrison followed Ramirez's eighth inning shot with a round-tripper of his own. Harrison also walked twice in the game.

The home runs by Ramirez and Harrison were part of a seven-run eighth inning that helped the Tiburones erase a 5-1 deficit.

Renny Osuna appeared as a pinch hitter and walked in both of his plate appearances.

Reliever Kendy Batista yielded one run on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Magallanes shortstop Elvis Andrus was hitless in five at-bats. He has gone without a hit in three of his last four starts.

Dominican Winter League

Dustin Nippert suffered the loss on Wednesday, yielding three runs – one earned – in five innings. He walked three and fanned seven.
