Centerfielder Josh Hamilton made his second rehab appearance on Monday afternoon, going 1-for-3 with a double and two walks.

Starting pitcher Mike Ballard pitched well, giving up three runs on five hits in 6.1 innings. He struck out three and walked none. The left-hander fired 71 strikes out of the 97 pitches he threw.

Second baseman Jose Vallejo (.419/.471/.484 in 31 Triple-A at-bats) was 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs batted in.

Julio Borbon (1/5, 3B) tripled while Brandon Boggs (2/5) singled twice.

Reliever Bryan Corey suffered the loss after surrendering three runs on six hits over two innings.

Guillermo Moscoso (4.82 ERA/.282 BAA) gave up four hits and walked five in five innings, but he held Midland to just three runs.

Reliever Andrew Laughter didn't allow a run in 2.1 innings. He gave up three hits and didn't issue a walk or record a strikeout.

Pedro Strop suffered another blown save after yielding two runs on two walks and a hit in the ninth inning.

Catcher Manny Pina, who went 1-for-5 on the day, blasted a three-run homer in the first inning.

Steve Murphy (2/5, HR, BB) added a two-run bomb in the fifth.

Guilder Rodriguez (2/6, 3B) and Adam Fox (1/2, 3B) both tripled.

First baseman Justin Smoak was 2-for-4 with a double and two walks.

Making his return to Double-A ball, Brennan Garr hurled two hitless innings of relief. He walked one batter and struck out one.

Kea Kometani earned the victory after striking out three in two shutout frames.
