Justin Smoak hit yet another home run as Team USA picked up another victory on Monday afternoon. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's minor league action.

Baseball World Cup

The United States finished off a perfect second round—with seven wins and zero losses—with a 4-3 victory over Australia on Monday.

First baseman Justin Smoak was 1-for-2 with a solo home run, his ninth in nine tournament games. He also drew a pair of walks. Smoak has a slash line of .400/.523/1.229 in the World Cup. That's a 1.752 OPS.

The Americans won on a walkoff solo homer from Trevor Plouffe in the ninth inning.

Both Team USA and Team Canada advanced to the third round, which begins on Tuesday in Italy. The United States will go against Venezuela, who handed the Americans their only loss of the tournament in the first round. Canada plays Puerto Rico.

The AZL Rangers failed to quality for the Arizona League playoffs.

The DSL Rangers1 failed to qualify for the Dominican Summer League playoffs.

After winning the division, the DSL Rangers2 got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but they were swept in the best-of-three Dominican Summer League semifinal series.
