Venezuelan Winter League

Zuila catcher Elio Sarmiento batted eighth and went hitless in three at-bats, striking out twice.

La Guaira left-handed reliever Joseph Ortiz walked the only hitter he faced in the eighth inning.

Right fielder David Paisano appeared as a late-inning defensive replacement. Renny Osuna entered as a pinch runner in the eighth inning, and he scored a run.

Former Rangers prospect Manny Pina started behind the plate and went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk. In two games, the backstop is 3-for-6 with two doubles.
