Winterball Roundup - 11/17

Doug Hogan spent one day with the Peoria Saguaros on Tuesday afternoon, and he hit a home run and drove in five runs. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

Arizona Fall League: Surprise 9 - (@) Mesa 2

No Rangers played for Surprise on Tuesday afternoon, but catcher Doug Hogan apparently appeared for the Peoria Saguaros. The backstop went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk, and five runs batted in. His round-tripper was a three-run shot in the bottom of the second inning.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Tuesday, but Thomas Diamond pitched well once again for Mexicali, as he yielded only one run on two hits over six innings of work.

Venezuelan Winter League

La Guaira second baseman Renny Osuna, who appears to have earned a more regular role after his recent 4-for-4 performance, was 0-for-3 with a walk on Tuesday, dropping his batting average to .357.

Designated hitter Max Ramirez was 0-for-3 with a walk. He struck out twice.

David Paisano started in right field and went hitless in his two at-bats.

?Caracas hurler Guillermo Moscoso pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and walking two batters. His earned-run average dropped to 1.93.

Dominican Winter League

Left fielder Esteban German singled once and drove home a run for the Toros.

Aguilas Cibaenas leadoff hitter Julio Borbon went 0-for-3 with a couple of walks.

Puerto Rican Winter League

Mike Ballard's second winterball appearance wasn't quite as effective as his first. The southpaw faced two hitters, giving up one hit and plunking one batter. Both runners came around to score.
