Winterball Roundup - 11/18

The Rangers' Fall League hitters combined for eight hits, including three home runs, on Wednesday afternoon. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action.

The Rafters won their third consecutive game on Wednesday behind a handful of excellent performances from Rangers bats.

Designated hitter Taylor Teagarden (.208/.255/.375) busted out of his long slump, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a home run.

Leadoff hitter and centerfielder Marcus Lemon (.339/.388/.597) fell a triple short of the cycle, as he was 3-for-6 with a double and a solo home run.

First baseman Mitch Moreland (.292/.397/.462) was just 1-for-5, but he hit a two-run homer. Moreland got his third RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Backstop Doug Hogan didn't go deep, but he singled once and walked once in five plate appearances.

Brennan Garr (4.38 ERA/.244 BAA) earned his first victory in the Fall League after he worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning, getting two infield popouts and a groundout. Garr worked between 91-93 mph, and he threw a few changeups and sliders, although none of them fell into the strike zone.

In 12.1 innings, Garr has allowed six earned runs on 11 hits, walking six and fanning eight.

Mexican Pacific League

No Rangers appeared on Wednesday.

Venezuelan Winter League

Max Ramirez raised his batting average back up to .220 with two singles in four at-bats. He also drove in a run.

Renny Osuna replaced Ramirez as a pinch runner in the eighth inning. He didn't have a plate appearance.

David Paisano struck out in his lone at-bat.

Left-handed reliever Joseph Ortiz continued to cruise for La Guaira, as he retired both batters he faced. The 19-year-old now has a 2.89 earned-run average this season.

Dominican Winter League

Andres James played third base as a defensive replacement, but he didn't get a plate appearance.

Third baseman Esteban German had a big night, going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in.

Jumbo Diaz (2.45 ERA/.192 BAA in 7.1 innings) sat down all four batters he faced, striking out one.

Puerto Rican Winter League

No Rangers appeared on Wednesday.
