Elvis Andrus logged another extra-base hit, as he went 1-for-4 with a double and a run batted in on Saturday. He also committed his fifth error in only 11 contests.

First baseman Max Ramirez was just 1-for-5 in the contest against Andrus' Magallanes team, but the home run was a solo shot off Yusmeiro Petit. Ramirez is tied for the league-lead in home runs at 11 with Zuila's Ernesto Mejia.

Shortstop Renny Osuna (.351/.422/.446) singled twice in four trips. Although he's doing it in another league and another country, Osuna's outstanding run this fall/winter may be showing that there is still some hope for him as a utility prospect.

David Paisano got in as a defensive replacement in left field, but he didn't get a plate appearance.

Joseph Ortiz retired the only batter he faced, picking up his fourth hold of the season.

Dominican Winter League

Playing against Mike Ballard's Caguas team, Escigodo shortstop and leadoff man Joaquin Arias (.292/.325/.333) singled once in four at-bats. He had one run batted in.

Esteban German (.263/.398/.354) and the Toros del Este were also playing against Puerto Rican team on Saturday. Going against Arecibo, the left fielder was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three runs batted in. Although German is hitting just .263 in 99 at-bats this winter, he has seven extra-base hits and 19 walks.

Jumbo Diaz struck out the side in his inning of work, but he also allowed one unearned run on a hit and a walk.

Julio Borbon raised his batting average to .265 by going 3-for-4 with a triple, his third of the winter.
