Sixteen Rays in Top 300 Prospects

The 2012 Prospect Guide has been published and there are no less than 16 Rays' players ranked in the Top 300, led by starting pitcher Matt Moore at the top of the list. Inside we have the other 15 names, as well as information on how you can win a free copy of the magazine from Rays Digest.

The 2012 FOX Sports Fantasy Guide/ Prospect Guide is now available in bookstores and the Tampa Bay Rays franchise makes an excellent showing by placing 16 players in the Top 300 Prospects list. The rankings, which were compiled by National Baseball Expert Frankie Piliere, also feature the Ray's Matthew Moore as the number one prospect in the game.

The ranking of so many players proves what many already know - the Rays still have a very good farm system. It isn't as top-heavy as it has been in past years, but last year's draft re-stocked the lower-levels of the organization with premium talent when the Rays had 12 of the first 89 selections.

In addition to Matt Moore being named the best prospect in baseball, two other players, SS Hak-Ju Lee (#20) and LHP Alex Torres(#72) are in the Top 100. The Top 100 was released here on Scout last month and can be found here.

The other Rays prospects making the Top 300 are RHP Christopher Archer (#105), LHP Enny Romero (#118), OF Mikie Mahtook (#121), RHP Taylor Guerrieri (#140), OF Brandon Guyer (#142), SS Tim Beckham (#154), RHP Alexander Colome ((#156), OF Drew Vettleson (#161), SS Derek Dietrich (#195), 2B Ryan Brett (#197), 3B Tyler Goeddel (#224), OF Granden Goetzman (#240), and SS Jake Hager (#289).

Five players from the 2011 draft are ranked (Mahtook, Guerrieri, Goeddel, Goetzman and Hager), which further shows what a strong draft the franchise had last season.

In addition to the Top 300 Prospects list, the magazine has farm system reports for every organization, including the Rays (written by yours truly), and a Top 20 prospect list for every franchise.

The publication also features an extensive fantasy guide, that includes draft day cheat sheets, a fantasy experts draft, a Top 300 players list and positional rankings.

At $4.95, the retail price is a real value and you'll be hard-pressed to find a periodical that contains both extensive fantasy and prospect coverage in the same publication.

Rays Digest will be giving away several copies of the magazine exclusively through our social media accounts in the coming days.

If you are interested in trying to win a copy for free, then you'll need to follow our Twitter account or "like" our FaceBook page. We will be announcing more details in both places later this week.
