Hellickson has struggled at times to get adjusted to the Southern League, but appears to be turning the corner. In fact, the 21-year-old right-hander has looked sharp in each of his last three outings, including seven innings of shutout ball against Birmingham on July 18. He is now 1-3 with a 4.58 ERA and 35-to-5 K/W ratio in seven starts with the Biscuits, for whom he has given up 46 hits in 39.1 innings pitched.
Hellickson, one of the flagship pitching prospects in the organization whose name has surfaced in trade rumors, is now 8-4 with a 2.87 ERA and tremendous 118-to-10 K/W ratio in 21 professional starts overall. He is one of the top pitching prospects in the minors.
