Cardinals 2012 AFL interviews: Cody Stanley

In our continuing series of interviews with St. Louis Cardinals prospects competing in the Arizona Fall League, we speak with catcher Cody Stanley.

After an invitation to St. Louis Cardinals major league camp this spring, the season of catcher Cody Stanley spiraled downward quickly and strongly. A 50-game suspension due to a failed substance test was followed by multiple injuries. The last came after he had won the Florida State League Player of the Week award.

His assignment to the Arizona Fall League has served two purposes. Stanley can make up for lost time as well as work with three organization pitchers who are starting for the Surprise Saguaros.

I spoke with Stanley in Arizona about his teammates and his up and down 2012 season.

Coming soon: This interview is part of a series of interviews with the seven Cardinals prospects still competing in the 2012 Arizona Fall League.
