The Lookouts who trailed all night put together a last minute rally in the last two innings of the game but fell short of the win only scoring two runs.
The Smokies, who had been ahead since the first inning, put together a 3-0 lead going into the eighth inning.
Chattanooga's rally started in the eighth inning when a ground out by Brian Cavazos-Galvez brought in Rafael Ynoa from third.
The Lookouts final run came in the ninth inning when Ynoa hit a single line drive into right field, which gave Miguel Rojas the chance to come in from third.
Chattanooga's Chris Reed spent the most time on the mound for the Lookouts. In the six innings that he pitched Reed struck out two batters, walked three, gave up four hits and two runs.
This is the second game in a row that the Lookouts have lost against the Smokies since returning home, but the series can still go any way.
Chattanooga proved this during their last home stand against the Mississippi Braves. The Lookouts lost the first two games of the series to the Braves but then won the series with three back-to-back wins.
