AAA: Omaha 5, Iowa 4

W: Victor Marte (2-0, 4.38)

Marc Maddox singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth to help the O-Royals sweep their four-game series against the Iowa Cubs. The key single came in the first at-bat of the game for Maddox, who replaced Mike Aviles after a 55 minute rain delay because Aviles was promoted to Kansas City during the delay. Irving Falu collected three hits, and Jai Miller went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs, continuing his hot start with Omaha.

Starter Anthony Lerew threw six innings, giving up four hits and allowing two runs while striking out six. Victor Marte was charged with his first blown save of the year by allowing the tying run to score in the eighth, but he recovered and pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win.

The win moves Omaha above .500 for the first time since Opening day. The second place O-Royals hope to continue their winning streak this week at Rosenblatt as they kick off a four-game series against the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Monday night.
