RC Organizational Report: May 30

Behind six home runs from six different players, the Omaha Royals on Sunday afternoon won their eighth straight game, routing the Round Rock Express 10-2. With the win, the O-Royals trail division-leading Nashville by just half a game. Unfortunatly, all three of the Royals' other full season affiliates lost on Sunday. Click inside to read the report.

The O-Royals smashed six home runs, powering their way to a 10-2 victory over the Express for their eighth straight victory. Kila Ka'aihue went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double, and Ed Lucas finished 3-for-4 with his first round-tripper of the year. Jai Miller was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, while David Lough, Alex Gordon, and Scott Thorman each contributed homers to the onslaught.

Philip Humber pitched six innings, allowing one run on six hits. The righthander pitched efficiently, throwing 52 of his 68 pitches for strikes, and walking no batters.

Omaha goes for the four-game sweep of Round Rock Monday afternoon.

The Naturals offense collected 13 hits but stranded 11 runners en route to a 5-3 loss to the RockHounds. Paulo Orlando finished 3-for-4 with a triple, and Manny Pina went 3-for-5. Johnny Giavotella went 2-for-5 with a double, and Tim Smith added a double.

Edgar Osuna threw six innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on nine hits while striking out three. Chris Chavez pitched two perfect innings in relief of Osuna, but the Naturals could not rally.

NW Arkansas plays the final game of their three-game series against Midland Monday.

Barry Bowden allowed a run in the bottom of the ninth, as the Blue Rocks squandered a 4-1 lead to lose 5-4 to the Pelicans. Ivor Hodgson started and surrendered four runs, three earned, on eight hits in 6.1 innings of work. Buddy Baumann pitched 1.1 shutout innings before handing the ball over to Bowden.

At the plate, Ben Theriot was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Adrian Ortiz went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Jamie Romak finished 1-for-3 with a run, while Eric Hosmer turned in a 1-for-4 effort.

Wilmington continues their road trip when they travel to North Carolina to face the Kinston Indians.

Burlington pitchers were shelled Sunday, allowing 14 runs on 13 hits in the Bees' 14-5 loss to Quad Cities. Mike Lehman allowed six runs on six hits in 3.1 innings of work. The Bees' relievers struggled as well, as the bullpen surrendered eight runs.

At the plate, Hilton Richardson connected on a three-run homer, and Gerard Hall and Rene Oriental hit doubles. Jose Bonilla went 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Wil Myers finished 1-for-4.

Burlington wraps up their four-game series against Quad Cities Monday.
