RC Organizational Report: May 31

Memorial Day wasn't pretty for the Royals' minor league system, as all four full-season affiliates lost. Omaha saw it's season-best eight-game winning streak snapped, while the first place NW Arkansas Naturals were trounced behind a disappointing start by Aaron Crow. AAA: Round Rock 4, Omaha 2

L: Luis Mendoza (3-3, 3.25)

The O-Royals offense was quiet Wednesday, mustering just five hits in a 4-2 loss to the Express. Ed Lucas went 1-for-4 with a double, Omaha's only extra base hit, while Alex Gordon and Marc Maddox both finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Luis Mendoza started and threw four innings, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out two. Federico Castaneda and Greg Holland combined to throw five shutout innings in relief, but their effort was wasted.

The loss snaps Omaha's eight-game winning streak. The O-Royals look to start a new one when they travel to New Orleans Tuesday to kick-off a four-game series against the Zephyrs.
