RC Organizational Report: August 17

The Idaho Falls Chukars were the system's only winner on Tuesday in a light day of minor league action. The Northwest Arkansas Naturals and Burlington Bees were off, while the Arizona Royals were rained out. Click inside to read Tuesday's entire minor league report.

AAA: Fresno 5, Omaha 2

L: Edgar Osuna (0-3, 10.38)

Edgar Osuna remained winless in his fourth start for the O-Royals, suffering the loss in a 5-2 defeat to the Grizzlies. The left-hander threw 4.1 innings, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks. Federico Castaneda followed Osuna, allowing one run on two hits over 2.2 innings before Louis Coleman tossed a hitless ninth. At the plate, Irving Falu had three hits, and David Lough added two. Mike Moustakas finished 1-for-3 with a walk.

Omaha plays the second game of its series against Fresno Wednesday night.

High-A: Frederick 5, Wilmington 3

The Blue Rocks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but ended up losing 5-3 to the Keys. Buddy Baumann shut out the Keys for four frames, giving up five hits while ringing up seven batters. Jairo Cuevas gave up five runs on five hits over 2.2 innings in relief before being lifted for Kevin Chapman, who tossed 1.1 scoreless innings. At the plate, Ernesto Mejia socked a double and a home run, while Patrick Norris also had a multi-hit game. Joey Lewis hit his second home run for the Blue Rocks.

Wilmington continues its series against Frederick Wednesday.

Rookie: Idaho Falls 4, Missoula 3

W: Brennon Martin (3-1, 2.82)
HR: Murray Watts (10)

Brennon Martin pitched well in long-relief, winning his third game for the Chukars as Idaho Falls defeated the Missoula Osprey, 4-3. Chad Blauer started the game and gave up three runs on four hits while striking out five over 4.2 innings. Martin shut out the Osprey for the next four frames, giving up five hits and recording six strikeouts before Edwin Carl collected the last out of the game. On offense, Kevin David cracked two doubles, while Murray Watts smashed his 10th dinger of the season. Juan Polonia, Geulin Beltre, and Travis Jones each added a double.

Idaho Falls plays the third game of its four-game series against Missoula Wednesday night.

Rookie: Danville 8, Burlington 2

L: Willian Avinazar (4-3, 2.79)

Six Burlington pitchers allowed 17 hits, as the Royals were routed 8-2 by the Danville Braves. Willian Avinazar gave up four runs on eight hits before Cole Lohden, Jake Ramsey, and Daniel Hernandez held the Braves scoreless for the next five frames. Justin Mazur and J.J. Leaper each allowed two runs in their innings of relief. At the plate, Ryan Stovall had a multi-hit game, and Ryan Jenkins connected on a double.

The Royals have Wednesday off before squaring off against the Kingsport Mets.
