2012 Draft Scouting Report: Avery Romero

Scouting reports are the foundation of the talent evaluation system, and the reports that are used on draft day are developed from multiple viewings over the course of a player's amateur career. As part of our 2012 draft coverage here at Scout.com, we'll be providing team quality first-hand scouting reports on the names you need to know on draft day. Scouting Report

Romero is not a physically imposing young man, and the size he is now is about where he'll be long term. But, he hits the ball like a much larger player. He flashes plus-plus raw power and we'll have to see how that carries into game action. Romero has the hands to stick in the middle infield, but might be limited to second base. We'll need to see a larger sample size of how well his arm translates to the position.
