Scouting Report

Projection is the key word when you're talking about Jamie Callahan. He's long and wiry with plenty of room to fill out further. He gets good downhill plane and big extension, which allows his velocity to play up a couple ticks. His fastball appears to jump on hitters and he's missing bats consistently at 90-93 mph. And, given his frame there's probably more velocity on the way. He also shows a good feel for his changeup at 80-82 mph, as well as a potential plus curveball with 12-6 action at 73-76 mph. In other words he has the framework for three quality big league offerings.
