Scouting Report

Jankowski went to the Cape Cod League known for his speed and defense, but left with a reputation for having an impressive hit tool. He has a smooth, compact swing from the left side and shares some mechanical similarities with Chase Utley. He keeps two hands on the bat and is able to let the ball travel deep in the zone. Right now he's a line drive hitter in game action and adjusted beautifully to wood bats. But, there is power on the way. Jankowski puts on a show in batting practice, showing off easy pull power with good loft. He'll need to be a bit more selective in game action in picking pitches to drive, but this could be a 20 home run bat at the big league level. Couple that with his plus speed and defense in the outfield and he's a top couple round type talent.
