Scouting Report

At least in the outings I scouted De Los Santos, he worked primarily as a fastball/changeup pitcher. He also occasionally mixed in a breaking ball, but showed below average feel. De Los Santos worked at 89-93 mph with his fastball with good hop through the zone. He showed some good run on his fastball as well.

The changeup is what really separates De Los Santos. It's a true plus-plus pitch with big down and away fade to righty hitters. It's a swing and miss pitch at any level. He throws it at 79-81 mph and he commands it better than his fastball. And, it is that fastball and his command of it that will need to improve in order to setup his changeup. The key to that will be finishing his delivery much better and more consistently than he does currently.
