Scouting Report

Arenado's strength and athleticism are more than apparent the first time you see him. He has a particularly strong lower half and he uses it well in his swing. The bat is going to be the ticket for Arenado but his strong arm stands out at third base and he has the agility and hands to stick at the position. He's making all the routine plays right now and comes in on the slow rollers exceptionally well.

While he does most things well, the bat could make Arenado an elite big leaguer. His plate discipline easily grades out as plus and he takes at-bats like a much more experienced player. Arenado's balance and strong base are a big part of his game and his plus hand speed allows him to let the ball get deep. Given his ability to make consistent contact, he has the look of a perennial .300 hitter with 25 home run type power.
