Physical Description

Athletic doesn't even begin to describe Jameis Winston. He's a multi-sport star and could probably succeed in just about any sport. He's a strong, strapping young outfielder and he still has some room to add strength. Winston is and will be a true physical specimen.

The polish at the plate is not there yet with Winston. He shows good bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat, but he's not that compact at the plate and his plate discipline will need work.

There's a lot of noise in Winston's bat. He flashes big raw power, but carrying it over in game action has been the issue.

Center field is where Winston would belong in the pros. His long strides and blazing speed fit the position very neatly. His plus throwing arm will do the trick there as well.

Winston is a plus-plus runner, and that also serves him well on the football field. This is a young man who could steal 30 bases and the track the ball down in center field as a professional.

Whether Winston even chooses to play baseball at all is a major question mark. If he does, he has the look of a boom or bust type prospect. All the physical tools are there, but he'll need to learn to be a baseball player.
