Only once in the past seven days has Troy Tulowitzki been held hitless, but aside from his April 30 0-for-3 day against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Colorado Rockies shortstop has been nigh unstoppable over the past seven days, earning this week's Scout.com Player of the Week.
It started with a 3-for-3 day in an 8-5 win over those same Diamondbacks on April 28, homering and socking two doubles to drive in three runs in the series opener.
Tulowitzki then led put the Rockies ahead in the top of the sixth, with a two-run homer to right, giving Colorado a 4-3 lead, before the Diamondbacks came back on an A.J. Pollock solo shot in the bottom of the eighth. Drew Stubs hit his first jack of the season to give the Rockies the one-run winning margin in the April 29 bout, but Tulowitzki was once again the driving offensive force on Friday, May 2, driving in one run with a single to shallow left in the bottom of the first and two runs with a single in the bottom of the second as Colorado cruised to a 10-3 win over the New York Mets.
Over the past seven days, Tulowitzki has been the most productive hitter in the bigs. In six games, he's gone 10-for-21, leading the majors with nine RBIs, and tying for the most circuit shots, with three.
Tulowitzki walked four times, struck out just once, led the majors in runs (9), was second in batting average (just .002 points behind James Loney, who's 11-for-23), was second in on-base percentage (.577) and seventh with a 1.244 OPS.
He now has a .400 average for the season, with seven dingers, 25 RBIs and 29 runs.
