McALESTER, Okla. — An eight-run bottom half of the fifth inning brought an ace performance by Donny Everett to a close for Team Tennessee in a 9-1 victory over Missouri in both teams' opening contest in the Junior Sunbelt Classic.

Everett, who preps at Clarksville (Tenn.) High, racked up 10 strikeouts in just five innings pitched for the complete game. The right-hander gave up just three hits and two walks with the lone run unearned.

Everett's fastball sat in the 90s for much of Friday afternoon. He's taking his talents to Vanderbilt after one more season in the prep ranks.
