CAMP VIDEO: Pujols Takes His Hacks

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Albert Pujols puts on a show in batting practice despite rough winds in the outfield at the Los Angeles Angels spring training facility.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The wind was howling in the back fields of Tempe Diablo Stadium on Saturday, as evinced by the difficulty that even Mike Trout and Albert Pujols had at putting balls over the wall when challenged by teammates and coaches. Still, Pujols – the three-time MVP – looked to be rounding into form at the dish, and took the lion’s share of the reps at first base.

Pujols, the pitchers and catchers did heavy work on bunt coverage on Saturday, with Pujols taking an active role in perfecting the wheel play with David Freese at third.

Last season, Pujols spent 116 games at first base –the fewest he’s spent at the position since 2003, when he played just 36 games there.
