San Francisco Giants infielder Mitch Delfino takes batting practice at Cal Pro Day

BERKELEY -- San Francisco Giants third baseman Mitch Delfino takes batting practice at Evans Diamond as a part of California's Pro Day.

BERKELEY -- A noticeably slimmer Mitch Delfino -- who spent 58 games last season with the Sacramento River Cats, hitting .242 -- returned to his alma mater, California, on Friday for the Golden Bears' Pro Day. Delfino will likely start in Sacramento next season, and flashed impressive power back on his old stomping grounds.

Delfino finished his 2016 campaign on a 10-for-30 tear, driving in six runs and scoring six in his final 10 games with the River Cats.

Delfino joined former Cal College World Series teammates Tony Renda (Cincinnati Reds), Matt Flemer (Colorado Rockies), Andrew Knapp (Philadelphia Phillies) and Marcus Semien (Oakland Athletics).
